For a couple weeks, I’ve been thinking about making cucumber water and homemade hummus. With the girls being 15 & 13, making hummus seemed like a skill they could master. Heck, Abby has made jalapeño “green sauce” salsa by herself.
Amy was kind enough to get ingredients at H‑E‑B, so this weekend was the hummus extravaganza.
On Saturday, Audrey helped me work up the basic recipe. It is easy to buy hummus, and it’s pretty good and very smooth. It’s also pretty easy to make (a lot of) hummus, and if you make your own you can make it exactly how you like it, or get creative with variations.

On Sunday, Abby and I made two variations and thought up what sort of hummus we’d like to try making next.

Making three batches of hummus, and eating the first one, is a lot of hummus in a short amount of time. We’ll see how long it is before I want to make the next batch of hummus.
