Start with Basic Hummus. The ratio needed to get the above color and really taste the avocado is 2 small or medium avocados per can of chickpeas.
So if using a full recipe of the Basic Hummus made from two cans of chickpeas, use 4 small or medium avocados. Or, divide the Basic Hummus in half and just use two avocados.
Cut avocado into chunks and blend into hummus. This thickens the hummus slightly, but that seems to work as it makes it closer to the consistency of guacamole.
Add salt and lemon or lime juice to taste.
