Buttermilk Biscuits

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

Combine dry ingredients, cut in shortening until resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in buttermilk, knead dough gently. Roll to 1/2” thick. Cut with 2 1/2” cutter and place on greased baking pan. Bake at 450 for 10-15 minutes or until brown. Makes 10 biscuits.
