Granny’s Pralines

2 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
1 Tbsp butter
2 cups pecans

Put sugar in saucepan, Add soda to buttermilk, and add to sugar. Cook to 240° (soft ball). Take off burner. Add pecans, vanilla and butter then beat until it loses glaze. Drop by spoonfuls.
