Ham and Cheese Party Sandwiches

Submitted by Aline Erwin

  • 2 pkgs Pepperidge Farms party rolls (20 to a package) or very small dinner rolls that are not frozen (Walmart)
  • 3/4 lb Boars Head Black Forest Ham – thinly sliced
  • 1/2 lb Baby Swiss cheese – thinly sliced
  • Topping Mixture:
    • 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
      • Tip – melt the butter first. If it is all microwaved together, it gets too thick and doesn’t spread well
    • 1 1/2 Tbsp mustard
    • 1 1/2 Tbsp poppy seeds
    • 1 1/2 Tbsp dry onion flakes
    • 1 1/2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Cut rolls in half (like a sandwich top and bottom). Put bottoms side by side in a 9×13 pan. Put a layer of ham using all on both loaves of bread. Put all of cheese over ham. Carefully cut each roll square through the ham layer only – do not cut through bread.

Make sure the topping mixture is stirred often and spoon or drizzle over the top of the rolls making sure it gets in the cracks (or cuts in the rolls).

Cover and refrigerate overnight or equivalent time. Preheat oven to 350 and bake for 20-30 minutes until cheese layer is melted. Yummy!!
