Pickled Figs, Pears or Peaches

  • 6 lbs fruit
  • 1 clove per piece of fruit
  • 2 cups apple cider vinegar
  • 6 cups sugar
  • 1 stick cinnamon, 2 inches long

Insert one clove in each fruit. Halve or quarter large pears and peaches and remove pit from peaches. Leave figs whole. In a large pot, mix vinegar and sugar and bring to a boil. Stir until sugar melts. Add cinnamon stick and fruit. Boil until tender. Put in hot sterilized jars. Store in refrigerator. Makes 6 pint jars.
