Snickerdoodles

2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
½ cup margarine, softened
1 ½ cups sugar
2 eggs
2 ¾ cups flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt

Stir together 2 Tbsp sugar and cinnamon, and set aside. Beat margarine and 1 ½ cups sugar until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Combine flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt. Add to margarine mixture, beating until blended. Roll dough into 1 inch balls; roll in cinnamon sugar. Bake at 350° for 8 – 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks.
