1 ½ cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 ½ cups flour
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp soda
Mix sugar and butter well, add egg and beat; add vanilla. Sift together flour, cream of tartar, and soda. Beat in flour mixture and refrigerate. Roll into 1 inch balls, and bake at 350° until lightly browned.
